What is a Predetermined Time?

It is the time needed, within reasonable limits, for experienced personnel to execute a basic human motion or activity. These basic motions form the ‘building blocks’ of any PTS System and allow trained staff to create time values for any action, activity or process.

Why use a Predetermined Time System?

The majority of ‘time consuming activities’ carried out within any process are normally performed by human beings. By applying Predetermined Times to these activities an organisation can quickly establish the basic time for a process. These timings can then be used as a basis for performance measurement or,as part of a re-engineering process, to calculate the benefits of proposed or actual changes.
